Make The Perfect Cork Summer Cocktail


Cork City’s most stylish cocktail bar – Cask on McCurtain Street – is the go-to place for fans of mixed drinks in a lush city setting.

And Cask’s manager – and award-winning Mixologist Andy Ferreira - has been wowing the summer crowds with his own creation – the Made In Mayfield – featuring all locally sourced ingredients!

Andy’s been kind enough to share his recipe with us – and this is one you can try at home in these hot summer months – if you are feeling adventurous. 

Andy says; “Made in Mayfield is a delicious summer drink that combines local gin, rhubarb cordial, sweet geranium and local craft beer.

“Blackwater Juniper Gin works beautifully, and it has great depth and light spice which adds a wonderful spine to the drink.

 “We're massive fans of the Cotton Ball in Mayfield and their Pilsner pairs ideally for this long, refreshing radler style drink”. 

Andy says that if you can’t source a good rhubarb & geranium cordial, you can get several easy-to-follow recipes online. Mix it up, then add 6 big geranium leaves or a small handful of your favourite herb per litre of cordial.

 There’s a bit of prep involved – but if you are entertaining friends this summer – this is the perfect mixed-drink – and it’s Pure Cork.


The Ingredients Are; 

40 Mls x Blackwater Gin
25 Mls Rhubarb and sweet geranium cordial
2 dashes of angostura bitters
200 Mls Mayfield pils

Shake all ingredients except the beer. Pour into a tall glass, top with beer. Then garnish with a stick of Rhubarb and you are good to go with the Made In Mayfield.
