The Farmgate

From small beginnings, as a family farm store and café in the market town of Midleton in the early ‘80s, the Farmgate has become a Cork institution, with its restaurant and store still in Midleton and a charming restaurant and balcony café in the City’s English Market.

The Farmgate was doing “locally sourced” before this was even a “thing”. It came naturally. The O’Brien family had their farm and their friends and neighbours in the fields around them and the coast nearby. Why would they look any further? The Farmgate is famous for classic Irish (and Cork) tastes and dishes, using the very best of what our fields and waters produce.
