Cork is famous for its characterful pubs, and for the fact that in our compact, very walkable city centre, you can hit more than a few on even the shortest of visits.

Across the city and county, you will find all types, from the tiny and traditional to the more contemporary bars where mixed-drinks and fine wines are served up alongside our famous beers and whiskeys. Cork is, of course, the home of Ireland’s best loved and most famous whiskey, Jameson.

Whiskey sampling apart - given our status as the food capital of Ireland, you won’t have to travel too far to find a bar that offers top quality food alongside great drinks and atmosphere.

In the prestigious Michelin ‘Eating Out in Pubs’ guide for 2017, of the 32 pubs on the Island of Ireland given the top rating, five are in Cork. To put that in perspective, Dublin could only muster two.
